“I can become a Grandmaster this year. My rating is 2411, so I need 89 more points to reach 2500. The plan is to play more tournaments and practice 6-7 hours daily. I’m confident that if I keep up this pace, I’ll achieve the Grandmaster title in 2025.”
Besides the Grandmaster title, Vantika is targeting a top 10 spot in the women’s rankings, a chance to play in the FIDE World Cup, and qualification for the Women’s Candidates. She currently ranks 39th in the world and is determined to climb higher in 2025.
Joining her in the race to Grandmaster status is Divya Deshmukh, another International Master who clinched gold for India at the Olympiad. The two rising stars are on track to emulate India’s chess greats, paving the way for a thrilling rivalry.
