In a recent development, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari squarely blamed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the Ram Navami clashes in the state. Adhikari asserted that the clashes were orchestrated by miscreants who were allegedly assured of impunity by Mamata Banerjee’s administration.
The statement comes amidst escalating tensions in West Bengal following violent clashes during the Ram Navami celebrations. Adhikari accused the state government of failing to maintain law and order and allowing the situation to spiral out of control.

Adhikari, a close aide to Banerjee who left to join the BJP in 2020, wrote to Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose, the Hon’ble Governor, informing him of the attacks on the processions held on the occasion of Ram Navami on April 17, 2024, and requesting that he act immediately to control the deteriorating law and order situation as well as having the incidents looked into by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
