Former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi was admitted to the AIIMS critical care unit in Delhi, where he passed away. He was seventy-two.
In remembrance of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who passed away on Monday night following a battle with cancer, union minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey became emotional on Tuesday.
“My brother, who was also my friend, passed away. In a video message released by news agencies, Ashwini Choubey sobbed and stated, “I never thought I would have to face such a bad day ever.”
“Sushil Kumar Modi ji was my family, not just my buddy. It defies explanation. who was constantly by my side, encouraging me and offering advice when I needed it. I used to chastise him too sometimes, but he never seemed to mind. Leader Sushil Modi ji was very courteous. He used to tell me, “Choubey ji yeh mujhse lagta hai ki daat diya uss aadmi ko,” whenever he was upset with someone.
In the video, the Union minister added, “I have never had a leader who was that committed to his party, the BJP.
Sushil Modi ji, according to Union Minister of State Choubey, was not only a politician but also a 55-year family member.
“My closest friend passed away. so depressing and tragic. I pray that Baba Kedarnath may provide him a spot at his holy feet. Heartfelt homage! 100 times, I kneel down to you!”
In Bihar, Sushil Modi held the position of deputy chief minister twice, from 2005 to 2013 and from 2017 until 2020. PMO Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and a number of other high-ranking officials expressed their condolences for the BJP leader’s passing.
“The BJP family is deeply saddened by the news of the demise of former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and former Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sushil Kumar Modi,” the Bihar BJP stated in a post on X.
At the AIIMS in New Delhi, he passed away at approximately 9:45 p.m., according to medical sources.
Party sources say that he will be cremated in Patna on Tuesday. The BJP politician announced on X last month that he has been fighting cancer for the past six months and would not be able to run for office in the Lok Sabha elections.

He was regarded as a friendly and industrious MLA. He was quite knowledgeable about political matters. He performed a great deal of admirable work as an administrator as well. His crucial contribution to the GST’s enactment will never be forgotten,”
