PM Modi to Poland Not the time for war ahead of Ukraine

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the NRIs in Warsaw, said that for decades, India’s policy has been to maintain distance from all countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday ahead of his historic visit to Ukraine that India is a supporter of peace in the troubled region. He reiterated that “this is not the era of war” and any conflict should be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue.

Addressing the NRIs in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that for decades, India’s policy has been to maintain distance from all countries. But today’s India’s policy is to stay close to all countries. He also raised slogans of Modi-Modi.

India comes forward to help first

Sympathy is the identity of Indians. Whenever any trouble increases in any country, India comes forward to help first. When Kovid came, India said humanity first. India helps the citizens of other countries. India believes in the tradition of Buddha, so believes in peace, not war.

India is an advocate of peace in the region and it is clear that this is not the time for war. We need to be together to fight the challenges. India focuses on diplomacy and dialogue,” Modi said during his visit to Poland.

Modi’s statement comes ahead of his trip to Kyiv – the first visit by an Indian prime minister to Ukraine since the country gained independence in 1991. Modi, who is visiting Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky, has said he will share his views with the Ukrainian leader on a peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict.

Modi will visit Ukraine after six weeks

Modi will visit Ukraine nearly six weeks after his high-profile trip to Russia, which was criticised by the US and some of its Western allies. Today’s India wants to connect with everyone. Today’s India talks about development for all. Today’s India is with everyone and thinks about the interests of all,” Modi told the NRIs.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Poland is the first visit by an Indian prime minister to Poland in the last 45 years. Modi also praised members of the Indian community for helping Indian students stranded in Ukraine when the war broke out in 2022. He also thanked the Poland government for opening doors and lifting visa restrictions for Indian students.

Helped stranded Indian students

You people helped Indian students stranded in Ukraine. We have all seen it. You helped them a lot. You all opened the doors of your house for them, organised langar. The Polish government lifted visa restrictions for Indian students. Poland wholeheartedly opened its doors to our students.

Even today when I meet Indian students who have returned from Ukraine, they praise all of you and the Polish government. Today, on behalf of 140 crore Indians, I want to congratulate all of you, the Polish government and the people.

Addressing the Indian diaspora in the Polish capital

Modi also said that for decades, India has had a policy of maintaining distance from all countries. However, today’s India’s policy is to stay close to all countries, he said amid chants of Modi-Modi. His remarks come ahead of his visit to Kyiv – the first visit by an Indian prime minister to Ukraine since the country gained independence in 1991.

Modi, who is visiting Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky, has said he will share perspectives with the Ukrainian leader on a peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict. His Kyiv visit comes nearly six weeks after his high-profile trip to Moscow, which was criticised by the US and some of its Western allies.

India talks about development for all

Today’s India wants to connect with everyone. Today’s India talks about development for all. Today’s India is with everyone and thinks about the interests of all. He said that if any country faces a crisis, India is the first to extend a helping hand. When Covid came, India said – humanity first.

Conclusion

We sent medicines and vaccines to more than 150 countries of the world. Wherever there is an earthquake or any disaster, India has only one mantra. Modi said that India’s entire focus is on quality manufacturing and quality manpower, which are very important for the global supply chain. In Budget 2024, we have focused a lot on youth skilling and job creation and we want to make India a hub of education, research and innovation.

Modi reminded that when the earthquake struck Gujarat two decades ago, Poland was one of the first countries to help. The people of Poland have given a lot of love and respect to Jam Saheb and his family members and the Good Maharaja Square is a proof of this. Today I have visited the Dobri Maharaja Memorial and the Kolhapur Memorial. On this occasion, I would like to announce that India has decided to launch the Jam Saheb Memorial Youth Action Programme.
