Wings India 2024 to be held tomorrow | At Begumpet Airport
MoCA_GoIThe Wings India 2024 event is all set to take off tomorrow at the Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will officially inaugurate the event being organised by Airports Authority of India in collaboration with the Ministry and FICCI.
The Wings India, supposed to be the biggest civil aviation show in Asia, will be displaying an array of new-generation aircraft displays, allied aviation services, auxiliary unit industries, and advances in the tourism sector.
The four-day Wings India event will bring together various stakeholders and participants from all over the world from the aviation industry to promote cooperation, showcase innovations and explore business opportunities. The biennial event, is being held with the main theme ‘Connecting India with the World in Amritkal’ and watch deliberations over the strategies and strategic framework for the future Aviation Sector of the country.
They also help charting out actions that fit with national goals, fostering connectivity, growth and innovation in aviation upto the year 2047.
About 1500 guests from over 100 countries, about five thousand business representatives and over one lakh visitors are expected to take part in the event. About 500 Business to Business meetings are also planned to be held during the event.
Meanwhile, the latest widebody Boeing aircraft, 777-9 and the new engineering marvel, Airbus A350 will be presented for the first time at the Wings India air show in Hyderabad.
The Boeing 777-9 flight test aircraft has arrived at Begumpet and will be on static show tomorrow and the day after. Organisers informed that the Airbus 350 will also be on show at the event for the first two days and likely to begin commercial operations from January 22nd, initially for domestic operations.

Additionally, the government has plans to develop 50 seaplanes, 16 helicopters, and 118 small aircraft to improve last mile connectivity through the UDAN 4.2 initiative.
Low-Cost Model and Travel & Tourism Market
To enhance accessibility, the government aims to develop 50 airports under a low-cost model, including public-private partnerships. This initiative will contribute to the growth of the travel and tourism market, which is forecasted to reach USD 270.5 billion by 2023, a significant increase from USD 119.4 billion in 2012.
