I just got the chance to spend time with the Lakshadweep community. The breathtaking scenery of its islands and the extraordinarily kind people never cease to astound me. I had the chance to speak with folks in Kavaratti, Bangaram, and Agatti,” he wrote on X.

“I appreciate the hospitality extended to me by the islanders. Here are a few peeks, which include some aerial views from Lakshadweep, Modi continued.

The prime minister had chastised the past Central governments of neglecting the development of border areas and islands during his speech to a public meeting in Kavaratti.

“The growth of their own political parties was the only objective of governments that stayed at the Center for decades after independence. States that were far away, along borders, or in the middle of the ocean received no attention,” he had stated.

One of the development initiatives was the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fibre Connection project, which sought to address Lakshadweep’s poor internet connectivity. This initiative was first mentioned by PM Modi in his 2020 Independence Day speech.

Additionally, the prime minister spoke with recipients of Ayushman Bharat, PM-KISAN, PM-AWAS, and Kisan Credit Cards, among other central government programs, and related how their lives had improved.
